At the end of a long week, you deserve to do whatever you want to do to relax. At The Falls at Riverwoods, you have access to a resort style heated swimming pool, a state of the art fitness center, and walking trails to help relieve stress. However, if your body is really sore or you want something a little more therapeutic, check out Crystal Hot Springs located near our apartments for rent in Logan. The springs are only 30 minutes from your home at The Falls at Riverwoods, so if you love the way you feel after a soak, you can go back as often as you like.

History

Originally named Madsen Hot Springs, Crystal Hot Springs opened as a business in 1901. But for hundreds of years before that, the springs were used by Native Americans and Chinese railroad workers for relaxation and therapy. In the mid 1900s, soldiers were bussed in to soak in the springs to rehabilitate injuries. Over the years Crystal Hot Springs has undergone many changes and today tourists from all over the world still come to bathe in the healing waters.

The Springs

The hot springs here have the highest mineral content of any spring in the world. The 120-134 degree water is full of minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium, silver, and more. You can read about the healing properties of each mineral here. This water comes from 8,000 feet below the Earth's surface and is believed to be over 20,000 years old.

Despite being called Crystal Hot Springs, there are also cold springs. This is actually very rare with most places only having springs with hot water. The water from the cold springs is only 65-75 degrees. There are several smaller tubs, a soaker pool, and an Olympic sized swimming pool for your soaking pleasure. Many people enjoy going back and forth between the different temperature pools.

Admission

The cost to enjoy just the springs is $9 per adult. However, you might want to have a little fun and use the two water slides which are heated all winter. It's an additional $3 to use the slides, but totally worth it. The springs are open year round, but make sure you check the hours before you go since they change during the winter season. Also make sure you check the weather; if there is lightning within 30 miles of the springs they have to make everyone get out.
