Things to Do
The trails in the foothills are open for hiking year round. You'll also want to spend a lot of time exploring the groves. The star of the forest is the General Sherman Tree, the largest living sequoia. You should also stop by the Giant Forest Museum. If you have enough time, go on a tour of Crystal Cave. There are also places to go fishing; make sure you have a fishing license before you go. In the summertime there are two horse stables where you can take horseback tours.
The parks are close enough to Hanford that you can take a day trip. However, if you want an extended adventure, there are several campgrounds to choose from.
