Enjoy a Meal Under the Stars at a Nearby Restaurant in Tucson

If you would like to dine outdoors after the sun sets, head to a local restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal under the stars near our apartments in East Tucson.

Here are a few favorites:

Cafe a la C'Art

Found in the historic Stevens House on the grounds of the Tucson Museum of Art, Cafe a la C'Art is one of the city's best-kept secrets. The service is attentive, and the restaurant features a garden patio inspired by Monet. It's complete with twinkling lights, mosaics, and green plants, and is a fun place to meet friends. In 2014, it was named one of the best museum restaurants in the United States by Food & Wine magazine, and owner/executive chef is a native Tucsonan and veteran restaurateur. The dinner menu is new, and meals include cashew crusted salmon, grilled baby back ribs, and mushroom tomato ragu.

El Charro Cafe

Established in 1922, the El Charro Cafe is the country's oldest Mexican eatery in continuous operation by the same family. When it opened, founder Tia Monica was a hostess, waitress, and chef all at the same time. Today, her grandniece prepares the flavorful dishes, and the restaurant has earned critical acclaim from publications such as USA Today and Bon Appetit. The patio features scenic mountain views, and the menu includes huevos rancheros, tamale stuffed chicken, and vegetarian enchiladas.

Downtown Kitchen & Cocktails

At Downtown Kitchen, the chefs prepare globally-influenced cuisine using ingredients from local farmers and gardeners. The restaurant offers live music at various times, and the quaint patio has a handful of tables and tall trees. All of the dishes are served on custom china and include grilled marinated flank steak, pan-roasted salmon, and pork shank brasato.
