A Fabulous Shopping Destination is Just Two Minutes Away
Just two minutes from our apartments in Midvale is a destination that features locally owned stores and restaurants.
We're talking about Gardner Village, and its motto is "Where Small Shops Meet Big Experiences."
It features brick-lined paths and the ambiance of an early Utah village, and highlights include:
Chocolate Covered Wagon
The Chocolate Covered Wagon is known for its dedication to quality, which is why it was named one of the "50 Great American Candy Shops" by Food Network magazine. It has also been featured on the Travel Channel, and guests are invited to try free samples. The candy is made from the finest ingredients, and the taffy and caramel cutter dates back to the 1870s. The selection includes English toffee, Bavarian mints, and caramel apples.
Pine Needles leaves visitors feeling inspired as it has more project samples on display than any other quilt store in Utah. The staff boasts that they only select the happiest of prints, and they enjoy helping both beginner and experienced quilters with their projects.
Archibald's opened in 1990 and is unlike any other restaurant in the state. It's found inside a historic flour mill built in 1877, and much of the original equipment still remains. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and guests can dine here for lunch and dinner. Meals include lemon chicken, country fried steak, and teriyaki stir fry.
Naborhood Bakery & Cafe
Enjoy a tasty treat or meal at one of the oldest bakeries in Utah. Naborhood opened in 1920 and relocated to Gardner Village in 2001. The welcoming staff treats everyone like family in a warm environment, and the menu includes sandwiches such as roasted turkey, cashew chicken, and ham & cheddar.
