Here at Wasatch Property Management, sustainability is essential to us. We are always looking for different ways to lower our carbon footprint. Even though we are always developing new ways to recycle, there are still some basic guidelines on what can and cannot be recycled. The following is not a comprehensive list of what can and cannot be recycled, rather a list of some more common recyclable materials. Here are 3 ways you can start recycling today! <\/p>\n Paper Products<\/span><\/p>\n Plastics<\/span><\/p>\n Aluminum and Metal<\/span><\/p>\n All recycled items should be clean, dry, empty, and loose (not bagged). However, if bagging is necessary, you should ONLY use clear plastic trash bags. Clear bags are ones that you can see the waste through the bag.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Common Non-Recyclable Materials<\/span><\/p>\n * The State of Utah does not accept glass in your regular recycling bin. However, Atlas Disposal partners with a <\/span>local glass recycling<\/a><\/a> company in <\/span>Salt Lake City.<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n It's a common misunderstanding that plastic Grocery bags<\/b> are a recyclable item. Most grocery stores have a bin in which to return plastic bags for reuse.<\/span><\/p>\n Film plastics<\/span><\/b> are not recyclable. Most grocery stores have a bin to return old film.<\/span><\/p>\n Styrofoam<\/span><\/b> is one of the most unsustainable products as it is not recyclable and lasts forever in landfills. We suggest using paper-based products where possible.<\/span><\/p>\n You should not deposit Food scraps<\/b> or food-soiled paper<\/b> in a traditional recycling bin. <\/a><\/span>[BW1]<\/a> <\/span>Organic waste can be separated and used for compost. (Even in an apartment you can compost! You can use the compost you produce to cultivate houseplants or patio greenery.
